Dr. Glenn F. W. Walpole

Glenn Walpole is a pathology resident at the University of Toronto with a growing
interest in dermatopathology and a passion for clinical medicine, research, and
education.

He completed his Honours BSc in Biochemistry at McMaster University (2015), followed by an MD/PhD at the University of Toronto (MD 2024; PhD 2021), with his doctoral research at The Hospital for Sick Children focused on innate immunity and host-pathogen interactions.

His research has resulted in publications in journals including Nature Cell Biology and Cell Host & Microbe, as well as presentations at national and international conferences. He has also pursued translational research in rheumatology, including work examining inflammatory pathways relevant to psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Glenn particularly enjoys teaching and mentorship and has been involved in mentoring trainees and teaching pathology to medical students and residents. As a member of the Canadian Society of Dermatopathologists, he is excited to help strengthen connections between dermatopathology residents across Canada and create opportunities for education, research, mentorship, and collaboration.
